Special Education Teacher: Instructional Strategist II

SUMMARY:

Central City is seeking a

K-12 Instructional Strategist II: ID and an Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD

certified teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is in a Level I/Level II classroom to support students with learning needs. The district will consider applicants with a teaching license who are willing to work towards an Instructional Strategies II: ID or BD/LD endorsement. The successful candidate will have experience in working with both academic, developmental, and behavioral concerns in the academic setting. Experience with students on the autism spectrum and the use of the Alternative Assessment.

ENDORSEMENTS: [Instructional Strategies II: ID (264) [ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties or tasks may be assigned. [Develops and implements programming associated with student IEP needs. [Conducts IEP meetings and completes corresponding paperwork according to IDEA and state/district requirements. [Supports and implements district curriculum and standards. [Assists and collaborates with administration, school staff, parents, and students on matters pertaining to instruction and implementation of student IEPs. [Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data. [Provides an environment that supports student achievement. [Must possess excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple schedules and plan for associate support. [Willingness to attend additional training to support their role. Meets the 8 Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria on a consistent basis. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Education is required. [Experience with alternative assessments is preferred.
