Job Description:

Position is 100 percent remote.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work to be performed remotely under supervision of senior department engineering team members. The candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Typical project assignments are larger in scope, more difficult and varied than at the Associate Engineer level. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected.

Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following:

• Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.

• Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

• Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

• Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.

• Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule.

Required Skills:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.)

• 3+ years of electrical design related experience in facilities, power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, fire alarm systems and controls, grounding, lightning protection, Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS) and security systems.

• Must be able to pass government background check.

• Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Green card or US citizenship required.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred.

• Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred.

• Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.

• Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.

• Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection.

• Proficiency in Bluebeam and SKM.

• Ability to perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.

Salary Range:

$29.42 - $51.49
