Description
Overall Responsibility: This role will be involved in projects with our Planning and Design Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in construction, renovations, and/or facility management.
Responsibilities: Responsible for assessing, adjusting or creating an estimation template. This role will be responsible for creating detailed, market-related owner's cost estimates for assigned projects' scope changes, work delays, etc. Responsible for reviewing change requests and determining material requirements, processing, and job routing. This role will involve coordination of meetings with clients or other stakeholders. Responsible for leading client and contractor negotiations to resolve contract changes and claims. Responsible for developing construction cost estimates and preparation of estimate references as required by the Estimating Lead, in accordance with the program requirements. Responsible for ensuring all estimates are accurate and account for all risk factors. Responsible for reviewing quantitative surveys for all types of construction systems and materials. Responsible for seeking additional useful estimating data from various sources. Review construction schedules with supporting documentation to assist the project teams. Assist the Project Team in evaluating and monitoring the Contractors progress schedule as well as consulting and troubleshooting issues throughout the construction of the project.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge/Experience with estimating software and resources, RS Means online, InEight Estimate, Sage Construction Suite, Autodesk Construction Cloud or other software. Have excellent computer skills within working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software and/or Microsoft Project. Experience with U.S. Postal Service Facilities Technical Group and various USPS building design criteria. Familiarity with federal, state, and/or local government and transportation agency contracting a plus. 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in Project Estimating and Scheduling. Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal (professional level required). Previous relevant experience in the engineering and construction industry is considered an asset. Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change. Ability to multitask, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities. Strong interpersonal skills, as the role requires continuous interaction with team members. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including report writing, editing, and proofreading abilities. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Outlook; highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel will be required. Experience with construction schedules for the design-build phase of the projects. Possess a working knowledge of construction practices and sequencing. Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling knowledge/experience and the ability to analyze schedules to determine duration and logical issues. Qualifications
Education/Experience Minimum
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience Solid understanding of construction management methodologies and hands-on experience in managing all aspects of project delivery. Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record. Valid state driver's license (any in US). In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US. Ability to meet worksite security requirements. Certifications as an EIT, PE, PMP, CCE, CCM or other related credentials are desired.
