DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary responsibility of this position is to improve customer service at PENNDOT Welcome Centers for various stakeholders, including travelers, tourism partners, employees, and vendors. Providing important information to travelers about visiting Pennsylvania, including directions and accommodation options, is crucial to encourage travel within the state. Furthermore, organizing events, participating in tours and travel shows, and assisting with other duties as assigned by supervisors are essential for strengthening PENNDOT's tourism outreach and partnerships within the industry. Facilitating internal and external communications is also key to enhancing operations within the Welcome Center Division.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Part-time temporary "on call" employment. Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Shifts vary and working hours are based on operational need. On Call shifts can range from 7:00am - 7:00pm, (temporarily hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm), 7 days per week operation. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in work involving public contact; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

You must be willing and able to work in and commute to Franklin County PennDOT Welcome Center: I-81 North: I-81 northbound, 1.5 miles north of PA/MD border. You must have the ability to be "on call" between 7:00am to 7:00pm, (temporarily hours are 9:00am -5:30pm), seven days a week. You must possess one year of customer service experience. You must possess experience working with computers. You must possess experience answering phones, composing emails; compiling reports; tracking office activities and inventory; data entry; and filing. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
