Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the construction industry, based in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. This role is crucial in providing efficient purchasing operations, with a focus on order management and procurement processes. The Purchasing Agent will ensure smooth transactions and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
• Taking charge of purchasing functions such as order entries and PO creation primarily through QuickBooks Online.
• Engaging in purchasing activities and materials selection for construction projects.
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for order management and accounts tracking.
• Providing exceptional customer service when liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Performing light Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks as needed.
• Bringing any experience in appliance procurement as an added advantage to optimize purchasing processes.
• Ensuring all purchasing decisions adhere to industry regulations and company standards.
• Collaborating closely with other team members to ensure efficiency in purchasing activities.
• Continuously improving buying processes and standards to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Resolving any purchasing related issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner. Requirements • Must possess expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Experience as a Buyer is necessary
• Familiarity with Buying Processes is required
• Knowledge of Component Selection is a must
• Excellent Customer Service skills are important
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Quickbooks Online is needed
• Experience in Purchasing Activities, Functions, and Materials is crucial
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
• Must be able to perform tasks within the Construction/Contractor industry
• A background in the job function of Purchasing Agent is necessary.
