Job Description Summary:

As a Facilitator for our U.S. Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) Training and Delivery Team, you will be responsible for conducting engaging and informative training sessions on various aspects of financial crimes utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles. Your role will involve delivering training modules, facilitating discussions, and providing real-world examples to enhance participants' understanding and retention of training concepts.

The Facilitator III is the most senior level of TD facilitator, and is a subject matter expert in the areas of facilitation and training delivery. The Facilitator III is accountable to deliver the most complex facilitated learning solutions to broad audiences, including executives and large groups, both independently or as part of a group of facilitators, and through in-person and virtual delivery methods, and could include residential and/or leadership programs. The Facilitator III works collaboratively with Learning Business Partners to support the achievement of business and organizational objectives while exemplifying TD's brand and culture. The Facilitator III plays a leadership role in contributing to the end-to-end advancement of facilitator capability across TDBG through involvement in communities of practice, peer coaching, mentoring, and facilitation of Train-the-Trainer and up-skilling programs to support the development and advancement of the facilitation practice for the organization.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver standard and complex training materials for several financial crime courses including anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, terrorist financing, sanctions compliance, and other relevant areas of financial crime and multiple components (e.g., new hire, refresher, process, procedures) to a diverse audience.

  • Collaborate with line of business and SMEs to identify training needs and objectives.

  • Design and develop training materials, including presentations, case studies, and interactive exercises to support effective learning outcomes.

  • Coordinate training schedules and logistics, ensuring timely delivery and maximum participation.

  • Facilitate group discussions and interactive activities to encourage participation and knowledge sharing among participants.

  • Provide guidance and support to participants in understanding complex regulatory requirements and implementing best practices for financial crime risk mitigation.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other team members to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.

  • Assist in evaluating training effectiveness through assessments, feedback surveys, and performance metrics, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to line of businesses, serving as a resource for questions, clarification, and skill reinforcement.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in financial crime to ensure training content remains relevant and effective.

Depth & Scope:

  • Takes a North American perspective and One TD approach to facilitation; ensures common content and learning structures are leveraged consistently and to the greatest extent possible, supporting customization only where there is a validated business need

  • Facilitates timely, high quality, consistent, creative, leading edge learning solutions through multiple modalities that positively impact business and TD metrics in partnership with design/development, program evaluation & measurement and others within the center of expertise (COE)

  • Top Facilitator specialist level requiring a more senior extensive managerial breadth and/or multi-business knowledge to deliver leadership/executive development curriculum and/or complex business-oriented programs (e.g. Build for the Future, Boot Camp program, etc.)

  • Typically called upon to facilitate and deliver enterprise programs or specialized curriculum that tend to be more high level, strategic, leadership oriented, theoretical and/or conceptual in nature or relate to a significantly complex business area

  • Exemplifies the TD brand and culture in all learning and business interactions

  • Plays a leadership role in building facilitation capability across the function to enable a centre of expertise; Provides objective and consistent observation and developmental coaching and feedback to peers and more junior facilitation roles to increase overall facilitation expertise, effectiveness and efficiency; Champions consistent practices, processes and measures across the facilitation function

  • Proactively looks for ways to enhance learner experience and engagement, uses multifaceted approaches/learning methodologies and/or various solutions to ensure learner needs are effectively supported

  • Partners across the L&D team and HR to support greater use of virtual and other technologies to create greater efficiency and learner access, particularly to more geographically remote business groups

  • Provides deep subject matter expertise in facilitation including knowledge of external best practices, emerging trends, and vendors; consistently demonstrates best practices in facilitation

  • Provides input, counsel and advice on the design and development of new and maintenance of existing programs to ensure the end-user and facilitator perspective is reflected; Ensures consistent alignment to overall L&D maintenance strategy as it relates to facilitation

  • Consistently demonstrates strong knowledge and practice of effective adult education principles, problem solving techniques, discussion leading, effective questioning and conflict resolution

  • Varies delivery style, program structure and content to fit the audience, adapts to needs of the learners and adjusts curriculum as needed to manage group dynamics using a variety of methodologies, accountable for achieving the outcomes of the program

  • Leads strategic business planning and senior leadership facilitation engagements, and may represent TD externally to facilitate sessions at conferences and events, having accountability to design and deliver bespoke programs and partner with executives to determine strategic outcomes

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years experience

  • Proven experience in delivering training or presentations to diverse audiences, preferably in a corporate or professional setting (virtual or in person)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience successfully utilizing technology to deliver or facilitate training in a classroom environment.

  • Strong classroom presence and facilitation skills with a dynamic presentation style.

  • Experience with virtual training technologies such as Webex, MS Teams, LMS.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and interact with participants at all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of different learning styles and audience backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools for developing and delivering training materials.

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles.

  • Strong classroom presence and facilitation skills with a dynamic presentation style.

  • Ability to lead, train, and provide feedback to colleagues and corresponding managers.

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgement decisions while working in a fast-paced and results driven environment.

  • Ability to travel occasionally for training sessions or meetings within TD Bank footprint.
