Job Summary

Must be willing to work flexible schedule and extended hours as needed, including nights and weekends.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of food manufacturing processes. This position combines technical knowledge with practical skills to support various aspects of production, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a food manufacturing facility. The specialist collaborates closely with production teams, quality control personnel, and management to uphold standards and optimize processes utilizing Sage X3 and other integrated software.

Responsibilities:

  1. Production Support:

? Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operations and timely production schedules can be generated with minimal manual interaction.

? Monitor production processes to identify and resolve issues or inefficiencies.

? Train manufacturing and food safety personnel in proper procedures and transaction processing in Sage X3

  1. Quality Assurance:

? Document standard operating procedures for quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards.

? Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems that integrate with Sage X3 such as ESHA.

  1. Regulatory Compliance:

? Stay informed about relevant food safety regulations and ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).

? Participate in training sessions to educate production staff on food safety and compliance requirements and transaction recording in Sage X3.

  1. Process Improvement:

? Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.

? Work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and measure their impact on efficiency and quality.

? Continuously review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.

  1. Training and Development:

? Provide training and guidance to production staff on Sage X3 processes.

? Assist with new employees training on Sage X3 during their onboarding process.

? Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the manufacturing team.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

? Communicate findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making processes.

? Document any new processes involving Sage X3.

Qualifications:

? Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.

? Strong understanding of food safety principles, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.

? Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment used in food production.

? Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

? Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

? Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

? Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
