Job Description:

The Sr. Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst provides specialized end to end BI support, visualization / presentation, and analytics for a significant business/function and/or projects/initiative. May be considered a subject matter expert in BI and Reporting. Accountable for the development, adoption and ongoing evolution of a best-in-class reporting and/or BI capability and may deliver on ad-hoc projects as assigned. Designs/develops reports, cubes, dashboards, templated or specialized visualizations or multi-format presentations, and scorecards to support business needs; ensures sourcing of high-quality data and alignment of metrics across the organization.

This position exists within the Risk & Regulatory Data & Analytics organization. This role will focus on providing dedicated support to litigation/enhanced monitoring/control reporting/financial crimes matters impacting the various AMCB Lines of Business. Key responsibilities include data curation, data analysis and development of data visualizations & working closely with various departments to understand Risk, Regulatory & Controls ad-hoc and BAU reporting needs. The candidate will also ensure all best practices related to execution, validation, and documentation are met.

Depth & Scope:

  • Works independently as the senior analyst / subject matter expert and may provide technical support to others

  • Creates complex and comprehensive Business Intelligence reporting packages and dashboards using localized datamarts and external data sources

  • Leads the design, development and implementation of portfolio reporting (acquisition, attrition, portfolio growth)

  • Identify and propose data presentations to meet evolving businesses needs; utilize various technology/ applications/ methodologies to rapidly generate impactful visualizations

  • Requires advanced knowledge of reporting and BI platforms, tools and techniques, and ability to effectively leverage it to support diverse reporting and BI functions

  • Considered a subject matter expert within a given area

  • Expert knowledge of all main data sources for the data used within the business unit and ability to effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposes

  • Experienced professional role providing specialized data visualizations to support business needs

  • Expected to have a knowledge of broader enterprise reporting platforms and data sources and ability to integrate data across the enterprise

  • Uses various technology/applications/methodologies to rapidly generate impactful interactive visualization

  • Expected to present to senior management or executives

  • Oversees and/or independently performs tasks from end to end

  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, which may include consultation with numerous stakeholders

  • Generally, focus on broad range of moderately complex issues that may span from short to medium term (e.g. monthly-quarterly),

  • Focus on short to medium-term (weekly-monthly), non-routine specialized/ complex issues and/or escalated matters

  • Produces daily, weekly or monthly reports which evaluate performance and effectiveness of tactics in all channels, analyzes trends, provides insights and recommendations.

  • Conducts analysis to provide enhanced Business Intelligence to inform management leadership

  • Validates the quality and integrity of data in various bank systems and perform data engineering tasks

  • Works with business units and marketing partners to understand business drivers, definitions, metrics in order to interpret findings, take action and provide meaningful direction

  • Contributes to review of processes and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or specialization in one of the fields below

  • 3 + years of relevant experience from an info management, computer science, programming specific or financial background or Graduate Degree and 1-3 years relevant experience.

  • Proficient PC skills including a strong competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, and a variety of PC based analytical and reporting software packages

  • Advanced experience knowledge of various data sources, tools and technologies used in preparing summaries and reports

  • Strong analytical and program solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software/Coding - one or more of the following: SQL, Databricks, Tableau/PowerBI, Alteryx, SAS, Python

  • Experience with JIRA

  • Ability to multitask/work on several projects simultaneously

  • Banking/Finance knowledge preferred

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Produces specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecards for businesses, with focus on understanding objectives and delivering insights for: (1) product design and development; (2) customer engagement; (3) account management; and (4) business decision making

  • May be required, as a subject matter expert, to provide advisory or consultative services for supported colleagues and/or businesses regarding multi-format data visualization techniques

  • Uses various methodologies to rapidly generate impactful interactive visualizations or tools

  • Leads the implementation of initiatives in support of overall business/function strategy

  • Conducts analysis to provide enhanced BI to inform management leadership team

  • Creates complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized datamarts and external data sources and transform into visual stories using appropriate systems to support client objectives

  • Identifies and proposes data presentations to meet evolving business needs; utilizes various technology/ applications/ methodologies to rapidly generate impactful visualizations

  • Creates compelling and integrated visual content experiences for internal and external client events

  • Builds basic layouts and templates to be utilized by internal partners

  • Validates the quality and integrity of the data included in the Reporting Packages and Dashboards

  • Develops meaningful and insightful commentary/ insights on new and existing reporting packages

  • Works with business partners to understand business objectives and develop value-added reporting and provide ad-hoc data extracts

  • Adopts, implements and effectively evolves report automation and/or visualization standards

  • May be required, as a subject matter expert, to provide advisory or consultative services for supported colleagues and/or businesses regarding multi-format data visualization techniques

  • Develops and provides complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level

  • Develops and/or delivers presentations /communications to management or broader audience

  • Adheres to internal policies /procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines, contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operation efficiencies

  • Identifies variances and contribute to the analysis, due diligence and implementation of initiatives and/or business operations within defined area of responsibility

  • Supports development and/or/implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize availability of service, efficiency and effectiveness

  • Creates complex layout for presentations for undefined template

  • Sources imagery from stock sites as well as internal bank databases

  • Creates and/or source original illustrations / icons to effectively communicate complex information
