Job Title: Release Train Engineer

The Role

The Release Train Engineer plays a meaningful role in delivering high-quality modern solutions software as part of the Agile Release Train. This role will be accountable for acting as a servant leader to the scrum team, acting to surface and resolve team-level sprint risks and roadblocks while facilitating scrum ceremonies. This role will also act as a change agent, evangelizing the tents of agile and scrum across Global Functions Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Change Agent with a passion for supporting Portfolios to transform their behaviors toward an agile environment

  • Lead and execute release and PI (Product Increment) planning enabling outcomes to execute the product vision

  • Facilitate SAFeprocesses and eventsfor the ART (Agile Release Train)enabling teamand ART maturity

  • Facilitate program level agile ceremonies to include dependency mapping, release planning and scope alignment across Product teams

  • Coordinate major feature releases and ongoing value delivery to customers

  • Ensure risk and compliance goals are met through enablement of high code quality, robust backlogs and reduction of technical debt

  • Enable the removal of or escalate impediments to the Scrum Teams or ART progress

  • Leverage performance data to drive outcomes and continuous improvement for the ART

  • Enable empirical product planning for a complex environment

  • Facilitate communication and partnership inside and outside the ART to include stakeholder engagement

  • Coach to enable an agile mindset with focus on agile value and principles leading with transparency, inspection, and adaptation resulting in delivery of high value increments which meet the Definition of Done

Qualifications

  • Mindset consistent with Scrum core values: openness, courage, respect, focus and commitment

  • Demonstrated understanding of lean agile values and principles including the 3-5-3 structure of scrum

  • 5+ years working in an agile environment as a development team member, Scrum Master, RTE or Product Owner

  • 5+ years' experience in the Scrum Master or Agile Coach role of distributed Agile team, tech domain preferred

  • Expert in facilitation, problem solving and influencing outcomes

  • Expert knowledge of best practices in valuedriven development (requirements management, prototyping, hypothesis driven development, usability testing).

  • Strong knowledge of technical engineering best practices including test driven development, continuous integration, DevOps.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of common practices to manage risk from risk identification through mitigation and monitoring

  • Expert knowledge ofagile tool suites including Atlassian, Agility Health Radar, MS Teams or similar agile management tooling 

  • SAFeRTE, Scrum Master and Agile Certifications

Preferred Qualification s

  • Experience with large-scale enterprise agile transformations with knowledge of multiple agile and scaling frameworks

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
