Job Overview:
The Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible in mechanical design / drafting support for basic engineering of licensed technologies.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Conceptual studies, layouts, detail drawings for equipment and mechanical systems
Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott end product whether engineering, fabrication, R&D, or design & fabrication of proprietary hardware
Ensures effective communication among other engineering disciplines
Ensures effective management of change
Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control
Preparation of drawings for piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, expansion joints
Review deliverables of peers
Detail component design (3D parametric design)
Detail proprietary equipment design such as particle classification devices, screens, baffles, etc. (3D parametric design)
Maintain an updated knowledge of the latest CAD and Engineering software being utilized by department and project teams
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Associates Degree / Drafting Program Certificate
2-6 years Professional Experience in Mechanical Design of pressure vessels, piping, refining, petrochemical & mechanical equipment
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Prefer Autodesk Certification or other relevant software certifications
