Collins Career Technial Center Intervention Specialist in CHESAPEAKE, Ohio
The Intervention Specialist at a high school career technical center helps students struggling academically, socially, or emotionally by creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing specialized instruction. They work with teachers to co-teach and develop personalized interventions for students while keeping accurate progress records and participating in meetings with parents and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have experience in co-teaching and writing IEPs, working with diverse populations, and empowering students for post-secondary education or the workforce.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio teaching license/certificate in Intervention Specialist or ability to obtain one.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Experience writing, managing, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Experience providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities.
- Knowledge of co-teaching models and collaborating with teachers to provide effective instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and participate in meetings with parents and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Ohio State Standards and Ohio's graduation requirements.
- Dedication to successfully empowering students to transition to post-secondary education or the workforce.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and stay informed about best practices in the field.
- Meet all health requirements mandated by law (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
- A response from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation was deemed acceptable by the Board.
