Aerotek Crane Operator in Chesapeake, Virginia

Description:

  • Successfully operate waterside cranes to discharge cargo from the vessels to shore.

  • Maintain and repair the cranes as trained and instructed.

  • Safely and efficiently operate cranes and related gear to transfer cargo from vessel to shore.

  • Effectively coordinate with vessel personnel, complete required documents and reports related to cargo transfer.

  • Participate as trained and instructed in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of cranes, gear and related equipment.

  • May be assigned general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals.

  • Refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety and environmental as required.

  • Housekeeping and general maintenance as required.

  • Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor.

Machine operating, crane operation, Production, General labor, Heavy industry

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Operating - friction/cable/hydraulic crane

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work at height up to 80 feet. Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records.

  • Must have the ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights and some holidays as needed
