DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you are responsible for the supervision and maintaining proper security for a group of inmates at SCI, Chester. You are also responsible for ensuring work is performed under safe operating procedures for boiler operations, generation of medium pressure steam, and for heat and hot water for institutional needs. In addition, you operate and maintain auxiliary equipment such as feedwater pumps, condensate pumps, chemical feed pumps, forced draft fans, and control equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours are to be determined by operational needs, and run from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required You must be able to perform essential job functions.
