Overview of Job Function

Verint’s Cloud Automation Engineer designs, develops and implements automated solutions for cloud deployment, scaling, and management in cloud environments. Their focus is on enhancing the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of Verint’s software systems by leveraging cloud technologies and automation techniques. This role requires considerable experience hosting large-scale platform services running on Kubernetes Clusters as well as a strong belief that automation is the only way to deliver and support platform services in a reliable and scalable way. The Cloud Automation Engineer works with Cloud Engineering leadership and Verint’s application teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, debug and support large Kubernetes clusters

  • Deploy and support CI/CD pipeline, image scanning, encryption handling, service mesh technologies, identity, gateway

  • Build images, such as GPUs for supporting application teams

  • Recommend processes, technologies and other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of Verint’s solutions

  • Providing subject matter expertise for cloud platform support

  • Manage, evolve, and debug large-scale production Kubernetes clusters

  • Develop automation through python, terraform, GitOps for automated deployments in development and production environments

  • Research new technologies to improve Verint’s developer platform

  • Work on complex projects with minimal supervision

  • Provide support for Kubernetes-based platform users, answer questions and guide teams

  • Write high-quality, standardized scripts, configurations, and tests to increase platform reliability through automation

  • Create and maintain advanced observability solutions for platform systems

  • Quickly create Proof-of-Concept systems to validate ideas and test new technologies

  • Write high-quality technical and user-facing documentation for software systems

  • Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and other engineers to design and produce platform solutions

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience

  • 5 years experience in operating globally-distributed infrastructure in a 24/7, five 9 environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects with strong organizational, and time management skills

  • Experience working in a remote team environment

  • Experience with Git version control

  • 3+ years experience with Kubernetes, Containerization

  • 5+ years experience with basic scripting in Bash, Python, etc.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

  • Experience with Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD, etc.

  • Ability to take ownership of assignments and drive to resolution

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with identity solutions such as Keycloak

  • Experience with Hashicorp suite, including Vault, Consul, Boundary

  • Experience with Redhat Openshift/OKD and its ecosystem

  • Experience with observability systems such as Datadog

  • Experience working with and deploying on Linux operating systems
