Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic responsible for both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. You will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, including gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, chillers, proofers, ovens, wrappers, palletizers, pumps, freezers, scales, metal detectors, and baggers. Additionally, you will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting 480volt systems, rewiring and swapping out 3 phase motors, fuses, switches, photo eyes, and sensors and assisting machine operators with machinery setup and changeovers, welding, fabricating, and reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery.

  • Repair gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, chillers, proofers, ovens, and baggers.

  • Work with electrical systems up to 480V.

  • Rewire and swap out motors.

  • Assist machine operators with machinery setup and changeovers.

  • Perform welding and fabricating tasks.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in both mechanical and electrical fields.

  • Proficiency with bearings, gearboxes, and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • Ability to work in a GMP environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a food/GMP environment

  • PLC troubleshooting experience.

Work Environment

Openings are available for 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) and 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Training will be conducted on the 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). You must be open to working 6 days a week, 48-55 hours weekly, with random off days.

Job Type & Location

This is a Direct Hire position based out of CHICAGO, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
