Job Description:

Manager Brand Design - Chicago, IL

What’s your type? Ours is typically Din Next Slab Pro.

About ADM: Not every career offers you the opportunity to do rewarding work that helps enrich the lives of people all around the world. At ADM, that’s kind of our thing. Whether we’re finding new opportunities for renewable products, developing the next flavor trend, or ensuring crops get to parts of the world where they’re needed, we solve real and interesting problems. And that’s where you come in.

About this opportunity: We’re seeking a designer who’s great to work with and great at their job. You’ll be the latest addition to our Brand Design team within ADM’s Global Communications group. You’ll also work closely with the Marketing Content Hub and Digital Marketing team. And you’ll work in concert with all these folks to help drive improvement in ADM’s digital communications.

Working with marketers, writers, designers, producers, as well as outside agency partners, you’ll develop visual assets for our website, social channels and email marketing. One day, you might be selecting and editing images for a new section of the website, and the next you might be working with our human nutrition business to design a Pardot e-blast about the flavors that’ll be in-demand next year, and the next you may be resizing a series of static and rich-media ads promoting our ancient grains. Your role will include a fair amount of helping partners throughout our global organization understand the requirements, opportunities and effective strategies of digital design, so you’ll want to be a patient and effective communicator. You will work on multiple projects at a time with colleagues around the globe, so organization skills and keen eye for detail are a must. And you’ll need to be a great listener and a creative problem-solver.

Our (awesome) Brand Design team is spread around the globe. We work on Creative Cloud and use Teams to connect. You will have your choice of a Windows machine or a Mac.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design effective visual assets for corporate and marketing activations, primarily focused on digital marketing

  • Working within an existing campaign direction, build out assets for a wide range of executions

  • Review briefs and ensure they have a clear audience and goal, as well as any other information necessary for you to deliver effective work

  • Strengthen our corporate brand by ensuring it’s presented consistently

  • Collaborate with agency partners, sometimes coaching them on brand compliance and sometimes sharing design workload across a campaign

  • Develop and grow a working knowledge of ADM, our products and services

Qualifications, core skills and experience:

  • 2-4 years of design experience

  • Eagerness to explore design automation tools and consider how they can absorb workload to free up designers to work on higher-value creative

  • Proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS

  • Experience designing for email marketing templates and execution, digital advertising, CMS-driven websites and social media. We currently use Pardot/Salesforce and Optimizely (Episerver)

  • Fluency in design tools and trends

  • Comfort with changing priorities and a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Professional demeanor with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Every position at ADM requires a commitment to integrity, safety, diversity and quality

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree

Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed? Studies show that often applicants will self-select out if they don’t check every box. We encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another one of our openings.

ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
