The Data Analytics job family collects, cleans, analyzes, and visualizes both supervisory and business operations data to identify trends and provide stakeholders with valuable information that can be used to help improve decision making.

The Senior Data Analyst draws on professional experience and knowledge to independently generate moderately complex to complex reports and supervisory analysis, in addition to collecting, cleaning, and maintaining said data. The individual is considered a subject matter expert, responding to and disseminating information to key internal and external constituents throughout the department, Bank, and system.

The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This position has no direct reports.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Creates and interprets intermediate to complex supervisory focused reports and analysis for stakeholders utilizing multiple data sets

  • Assists in translating business need to design and develop tools, metrics and dashboards for insight and data visualization

  • Prepares and presents both orally and in written form, findings and assessments concerning complex matters or institutions to internal and external stakeholders

  • Develops, implements, and leads project plans, timelines and milestones for moderate to highly complex projects

  • Builds and maintains strategic work relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders, such as other Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors

  • Automates data from multiple complex data sets or domains

  • Consults or serves as a technical expert in assigned area(s) to brainstorm data solutions utilizing domain knowledge for stakeholders

  • Utilizes data mining to extract information from multiple data sets, provide intermediate to complex data analysis and monitor data quality

  • Supports and leads efforts around, and designs testing of controls ensuring data integrity and adherence with requirements and guidelines

  • Serves as a mentor and/or coach; provides technical expertise and constructive feedback; trains and helps develop staff members

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Five plus years of direct work-related experience

  • Demonstrates the ability to understand and execute business processes; demonstrates the ability to apply complex concepts and inter-dependencies in completing tasks

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with banking supervision

  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, data bases and programming

  • Demonstrates independent and critical thinking and decision-making abilities as well as have strong written and oral communication abilities

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data sets

  • Demonstrates advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to provide effective direction or consultation

  • Possesses the ability to coach/guide and provide constructive feedback to all levels of staff

  • Possesses strong teamwork skills and the ability to build and work collaboratively within and across work teams

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead a team without authority and to resolve moderately complex to complex issues

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage time and projects effectively by adjusting quickly to new and different priorities

  • Demonstrates aptitude to leverage relevant technology and software applications

  • Possesses general business acumen

Location:

This is a hybrid role. Your presence will be expected at one of the 7th District offices—Chicago, Des Moines or Detroit

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

  • This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents may be eligible for the information access required for this position and sponsorship for a work visa, and subsequently for permanent residence, if they sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen and meet other eligibility requirements.   • This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job.
