Material/Process Tech IPerforms routine material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants, or at points of supply. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.Material/Process Tech IIPerforms routine and non-routine material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants, or at points of supply. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Material/Process Tech IIIPerforms advanced material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants and/or at points of supply. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Essential Duties: Material/Process Tech I:The essential duties for this job include:Performs material tests and inspects manufacturing processes and plant equipment in a manufacturing plant to ensure materials conform to Department specifications and moves material samples.Prepares inspection or test reports.Prepares and types correspondence, reports and supporting documents; files, orders supplies and equipment.Specializes in testing a particular type of material.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Material/Process Tech II:In addition to the duties for a Material/Process Tech I, the essential duties for this job include:Maintains and assists in calibrating equipment.Reports test results to field construction personnel and may assist in determining cause for material problems.Records test data on worksheets and performs calculations to convert raw data into specific units of measurement.Secures, logs in and prepares samples of raw materials or manufactured materials at various stages of production for testing.Specializes in testing a particular type of material.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Material/Process Tech III:In addition to the duties for a Material/Process Tech I and II, the essential duties for this job include:Maintains and calibrates equipment.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
