Description The Business Unit Manager is responsible for managing (leading) and ensuring profitability of all aspects of the Rumpke Regional Accounts Group profit and loss statements (P/L). This position develops and implements sound business strategies ensuring profitable revenue growth and margin improvement. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing. Responsibilities of Position: Creates, submits, and maintains annual sales and marketing plan to include head count analysis, organizational chart, service area, line of business revenue, sales analysis worksheet, strategies and tactics, end of year versus budget projections and associated payroll expenses. Responsible for maintaining thorough knowledge of industry, competition, available services, lines of business and applicable pricing structures. Communicates and works closely with the area leadership team to ensure consistency identifying area of opportunities and resolving customer issues as they arise. Reviews and implements annual price increase strategy ensuring timely implementation and on-going monitoring to confirm effectiveness. Prepares, analyzes and provides on time completion of monthly tracking of key line of business metrics reporting to area's. Oversees along with management team to ensure proper internal procedures, sales procedures, metrics and programs are being followed per the corporate standard(s). Working closely with Client Services Manager identifying broker opportunities and market potential for growth. Plans and facilitates regular meetings with key business unit members and Rumpke region/area management to review, resolve and implement necessary action plan strategies to increase business unit's overall effectiveness. Ensure tools are being routinely utilized (i.e., GMS, I-pak and SMS). Confirms that all required sales reporting and incentive payouts are accurate, complete, and turned in on a timely basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually). Oversees personnel needs including recruiting to fill open positions, coaching, training, compensation, promotion, termination, and semi-annual and annual evaluations of employee's performance. Coordination of sales efforts with applicable region(s) after acquisitions to assist with market start-ups. Coordinate with Operations the equipment needs and inventory awareness. Inspects and analyzes the Regional Account management team's output and deliverables. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: Must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and follow-up on activities. Must possess ability to initiate action and produce strong results. Must present and communicate in a professional manner. Gain commitment from team members. Must be organized with good time management skills. Possess proven analytical/problem solving skills thinking strategically for the customer / company. Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications. Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others to meet or exceed goals. Good Driving record, able to meet Rumpke driving qualifications. Physical Requirements in a Regular workday: Frequently sitting in office environment. Frequently walking. Additional Working Conditions/Aspects: Ability to travel between offices, as required. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver's license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre-employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
