• Minimum Required: High school/GED diploma.
• CFC Universal Certificate required. Approved certificate from accredited related apprenticeship program and 2 years directly related work exp.; or high school/GED diploma and 5 years directly related work experience.
• Skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting piping and HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment and controls. Able to read and interpret blueprints.

``` - Performs highly skilled pipefitting and installs, repairs, adjusts, or modifies all types of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilating equipment; replaces or repairs all supporting systems such as electrostatic filters, pneumatic and electronic controls, pumps and fan motors. - Performs pipefitting and installs and repairs steam lines, expansion joints, traps regulators, bearings and valves. - Plans, implements and performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Inspects installed equipment for proper assembly of components and compliance with technical orders, blueprints, specifications, handbooks and established procedures. Insures safe operational standards. - Reads and interprets sketches, blueprints and layouts, determining amount of material and time involved; makes cost estimates; compiles reports, requisitions, work orders, inventory lists and project reports/records. - May be required to instruct semi-skilled and skilled HVAC technician/steamfitters and trades people; assist in training new personnel; coordinate work with other trades. - Maintains housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
