Job Overview The College of Nursing is seeking a full time Simulation Operations Specialist 1 to provide technical and mechanical support as well as the operation of patient simulators in the Simulations Skills Lab. This position will report to the Director of Simulation. It is 100% onsite and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7am to 5pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Essential Functions Program simulator software to model simulator's physiologic response to instructor specifications. Operate patient simulators and cameras for duration of simulations. Operate and maintain audio-visual and debriefing systems. Maintain current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment directions for use (DFU). Set up and take down simulation center equipment and standardized patient rooms. Maintain and repair all simulation equipment including (but not limited to): patient simulators, computers, monitors and a variety of medical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and contact vendors of medical equipment for assistance. Collaborate with Director of Simulation to organize, maintain and restock simulation centers' supplies. Provide technical support for task trainers and multimedia equipment. Provide technical assistance, support and training to faculty, instructors, and staff in use of simulation equipment. Provide theatrical production support (costuming and moulage) for simulation scenarios as requested. Provide recommendations on equipment, supplies and materials. Collect data for ongoing research and/or grant requirements. Maintain simulation activities and learner confidentiality. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Associate's Degree. Two (2) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience One (1) year of relevant work experience. Clinical knowledge and experience working in a healthcare related field. Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
