Overview and Essential Functions

This position is responsible for overseeing business development and customer relationships throughout the Company. Its focus is ensuring that TelCom’s commitment to its customers is regularly demonstrated through the maintenance of positive relationships with existing clients with a strong focus on client retention as well as fostering that of future clients. It investigates potential new lines of business growth opportunity with the commitment of industry-leading customer satisfaction at the forefront of mind.

Responsibilties:

  • Proactively works with current and potential customers to answer questions and concerns as well as work to resolve issues;

  • Consistently communicates with customers, both current and potential, to ensure they are knowledgeable of TelCom’s services and its ability to meet customer needs;

  • Understands and presents to existing and potential clients in a manner that highlights TelCom’s commitment to safety and quality, robust span of capabilities and capacity to groups of all sizes and/or individually;

  • Attends and positively represents Telcom at various trade shows and other customer or industry events;

  • Actrively participates in, suggests and maintains Company industry-related memberships as approved by Senior Leadership;

  • Plans and organizes TelCom sponsored customer events;

  • Develops, maintains and implements promotional and customer appreciation materials/programs;

  • Maintains knowledge of existing, new and potential new opportunities throughout the industry;

  • Prepares lists of prospects from leads;

  • Calls on prospective customers;

  • Gathers and maintains data related to internal and industry contracts in effort to track movement throughout the industry (upcoming projects, grants/funding being utilized, work competitors have been awarded, engineering firms being utilized, material availability and sources, etc);

  • Remains involved in the life cycle of the customer from introduction to the bidding process and follow-up of contract awards;

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business Marketing or related field and 7-10 years of telecommunications industry customer experience-related position, or combination of education and experience is required;

  • Reputable telecommunications industry persona;

  • In-depth industry knowledge - field experience a plus;

  • Verifiable experience preparing and giving presentations to various sized groups or individually while representing the organization in a positive way;

  • Proven ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization, both internally and externally, in a positive way;

  • Proficient word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and cloud-based computer skills are required. Working knowledge of Google suite of applications strongly preferred;

  • Ability to work independently, with minimal oversight and/or guidance.
