Autobody Repairer
Transportation Department
8 hrs/day, 12 mos/year
Mon-Fri, 1st shift, 5:00am – 1:30pm
Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications. Job Responsibilities
Performs skilled service repairs on heavy automotive and mechanical equipment, including but not limited to repairs on frames, bodies, and grills of trucks, tractors, and buses. Performs repair or replacement of damaged automotive equipment body parts, rust abatement, metal welding and fabrication, automotive painting, and cost estimation consistent with standard/diesel automotive repair methods. May perform related light mechanical work. Must possess thorough working knowledge and basic hand tools necessary to perform automotive body repairs on diesel and gasoline powered engines. If NOT yet 21 years of age at the time of hiring, must within six months after turning 21, possess a CDL-B license with a P and S endorsement and be able to pass DOT physical. Shall operate a school bus on assigned route, removal of snow/ice from buses, sidewalks, and parking lots, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
Step 1 ($25.49/hr) – Step 5 ($29.82/hr)

Certifications/Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and two (2) years construction autobody repair experience or graduation from an accredited autobody program. Thorough working knowledge of automotive body repair methods, tools/materials, equipment, and terminology. Ability to perform repairs to heavy automotive and mechanical equipment. Working knowledge and skills for operating tools used in automotive body repair work. Ability to understand and carry out both verbal and written directions. Exhibit good motor and hand/eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, thoroughness, good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
