Position Summary:

The Process Technology Engineer is focused on applying engineering principles to improve the Fibersol production process and support growth opportunities. We are looking for a technical expert who is creative, hands-on, and team-oriented to support both increasing our operating profit by improving the effectiveness in our operations and growth opportunities for this platform. This will be a highly visible role with interaction with a variety of functions including Commercial, Operations, and R&D.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify, evaluation and lead projects to reduce losses and/or increase OEE: rates, yields, schedule attainment.

  • Collaborate with project engineers, technology engineers, the operations team and R&D to optimize the performance of the existing asset and evaluate, design and implement potential growth projects.

  • Serve as a technical partner for the site including production and maintenance employees, plant operations and leadership team, other manufacturing sites, corporate engineering, S&T organizations, and external partners.

  • Explore, propose and/or champion new process technologies and equipment suppliers to support operational improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a 5-year capital project portfolio to include capital budgeting and execution that strikes a balance between non-discretionary, productivity and growth spend.

  • Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture. Promote continuous process safety improvement.

  • Act as a resource for both the operations and R&D teams through coaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessions.

Required Skills:

  • Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others.

  • Strong knowledge of a variety of process unit operations. Some examples include: evaporation, ultrafiltration, ion exchange, simulated bed chromatography, and spray drying.

  • Experience with optimization/analytical processes and tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers, operators, R&D and upper management.

  • Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs and control narratives.

  • Willingness to spend time in plant areas on a regular basis.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering is preferred. Candidates with a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Technology, or other related field will be considered.

Required Experience:

  • Position requires a of Minimum 5 years’ experience as a process or production engineer.
