Keep buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, washing walls and glass, and trash removal from offices. Restocking janitorial supplies where needed, having a keen eye for detail, and diligence in completing assigned tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school Diploma or GED required.
- Six months experience of industrial janitorial work desired.
- Attention to detail, courteous, customer service experience, and cleaning experience.
- Ability to work as a team or independently, listening skills, effective communication skills, Takes direction well. Safety minded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans and maintains company facilities including, but not limited to, washrooms, meeting rooms, offices, carpet and flooring, furniture, walls, toilets, etc., to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
- Works as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to ensure compliance.
- Ensures the completion of assigned cleaning tasks in a timely manner.
- Performs additional or special cleaning assignments as directed.
- Identifies appropriate cleaning materials and products to sanitize areas.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and scrubs floors. Removes trash and replaces liners. Cleans walls and glass areas when required. Cleans restrooms, kitchen, break rooms, and office areas.
- Mixes water and detergents (cleaning products) in containers per specifications on container.
- Takes inventory and manages appropriate levels of supplied mops linens etc. from vendor.
- Integrity and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Restocking of janitorial supplies from warehouse.
- Documenting and reporting cleaning logs.
