ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital has been providing high-quality health care services to the Branch County community since 1939. Located in Coldwater, Michigan, ProMedica Coldwater has 71 acute medical beds and 16 adult psychiatric beds to care for patients and their families.

POSITION SUMMARY

Receives and stores materials, supplies and equipment. Checks the packing lists against purchase orders for any discrepancies. Takes inventories and may be requested to run errands.

ACCOUNTABILITES

Returns unwanted (excess, damaged, not ordered) goods to supplier. Records back-ordered items from packing list onto the purchase order. Receives and unpacks delivered goods. Verifies quantities of items received against the shipping documents and purchase order, noting any discrepancies on appropriate forms, and informs the buyer. Checks goods received for damage, noting damage on appropriate forms and inform the buyer. Enters receiving data (condition, order number, carrier, shipper, etc.) on receiving sheet. Verifies catalogue numbers, description, and conversion factors. Move items from loading dock to appropriate storeroom location upon receipt. Stores materials on appropriate shelves. Posts all goods received, using receiving report and computer input. Adheres to asepsis procedure in handling and storing sterile supplies. Records UPS packages in the log. Picks up hospital mail from the post office 5 days per week, in the A.M. Processes bills of lading, packing slips, logs, receiving reports, and other documents related to storeroom functions. All other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations. Must possess the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Operates a calculator, copy machine, scale, ladders, hand truck, knives, and dollies. Occasional exposure to all types of weather conditions. Transfers chemicals from truck to storage. Age legend not applicable. This position has no responsibility for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients. However, the ability to communicate and interact with customers of all ages is required. Requires a great deal of walking, up and down steps, and stooping. Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 60 pounds.
