Job Summary: This position performs duties that are mostly associated with grant funding. Under the supervision of the Grant Compliance Manager, proactively perform financial planning and analysis projects related to improving outcomes for students by utilizing tools that demonstrate District resource expenditures and their impact on student achievement and District outcomes. This includes grant budget monitoring, monthly reporting of staffing levels, salary, FTE changes and actual-to-budget variance analysis. Actively participate in the development and preparation of the District grant budget, school and department grant budgets, and associated grant documents. Assist in the monitoring of the grant budget and grant evaluation of the District's financial condition. Support schools and departments by providing guidance with grant budget issues and grant reporting. Maintain an understanding of the accounting system information, including the account code structure and how transactions flow through the General Ledger. Demonstrate professionalism in all work and communications. Must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality for issues pertaining to working with General Counsel, Superintendent, etc. Ability to interact and collaborate effectively across the District, but in particular with internal finance partners such as Accounting, Procurement and Accounts Payable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing District grant and general fund financial plans. Following procedures and utilizing tools for budget and forecast preparation analysis and associated presentation. Assist with the development of grant reports designed for executive quality presentations for leadership, schools, instructional departments, and support services providing information on grant spending versus grant budget data with appropriate level of detail about dollar and FTE variances. Organize facts and data used to develop the grant budget projections. Arrange and prepare information using district approved software. Establish, organize, and maintain files for grant budget and forecast development and documentation. Research as needed. This includes developing the annual Grant Financial Plan documents as requested by the District leadership, Board of Education and associated public facing documents. Maintain the Grant District budget throughout the fiscal year by updating grant budget line items, transferring funds, and ensuring that changes in department contacts are maintained and communicated. Prepare grant exception reports that summarize specific areas of emphasis and identifies problem areas for follow up, with appropriate level of analysis and recommendations. Monitor grant position management activity, track changes, and ensure proper budget source is utilized and position management procedures are adhered to. Review and monitor school and department grant budgets with special focus on building relationships across the District and collaboratively investigate budget variances while facilitating solutions. Maintain and utilize tools to help schools and departments track grant spending, and forecast estimated spending both in current and future years. Actively participate in the development of grant procedure manuals and produce documents of a specialized nature for the department, including grant training documents. Provide excellent customer service through a strategic financial relationship with site-level grant budget owners such as school principals, department directors and bookkeepers/office managers. Perform other related duties and special analysis projects as assigned or requested. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in busi ess or accounting or equivalent certifications with experience. Two (2) years of related experience with basic knowledge of building financial analyses and modeling. Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience working in public education preferred. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds preferred. Transcripts required. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required. Note: Each college transcript shall be authentic, original or photocopy, bearing the embossed seal of the institution, the signature of the registrar, and including descriptive titles, course numbers, credits, and grades for each course listed and degrees earned, if any. For the purpose of these Rules, credits shall be in semester hours or may be interpreted as meaning the equivalent in quarter, trimester, unit or term.
