Overview:
Columbus, Ohio based Materials Science International (MSI), an ISO 9001 certified company, is a growing world class manufacturer that supports a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, and architectural and industrial glass, among others. Manufacturing is our core business and has been since we were founded in 1981. Our 30 associates work 2 shifts at our two southwest Columbus facilities (combined 75,000 sq ft).
Position Summary:
This position will support MSI 's Production and Machining Group. The candidate may have an understanding of shop practices but is not required. The candidate will learn and have some exposure in the safety, thermal spray practices, control of raw and alloyed materials, basic equipment maintenance, periodic quality checks, gain knowledge of various metal properties, surface preparation and other misc. functions including documentation procedures. The individual will learn to read part drawings and understand dimensioning and tolerances using calipers and micrometers.
The candidate will work directly with a mentor on assignments, consistently follow directions based on company training needs and must work well with others. This individual will be primarily interacting with the Plant Manager. This is a 1st shift position (Mon. -- Fri.).
