This position has primary responsibility for directing staff in the daily maintenance of infrastructure within the commuter rail system, also known as Maintenance of Way (MOW). This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the RTD FRA Drug & Alcohol Policy. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibiliti Establishes, implements, and directs the Rail Maintenance program for MOW infrastructure and facilities, including system alteration and modification. Conducts certification inspections of infrastructure, facilities and equipment when alterations or improvements are made on the alignment. Coordinates and approves contractor and MOW activity on Right-of-Way access and monitors adherence to the permitting process and safety rules. Initiates correspondence, reports, training documents, procedures and estimates. Facilitates the audit process and requirements with the FRA and other agencies. All job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Associate's Degree in electrical technology or a closely related field of study. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or closely related field preferred. A minimum of eight years of experience in electro/mechanical maintenance, track maintenance, or railway signal system maintenance of way-related equipment preferably in a FRA regulated system. Including experience in electrical and mechanical technology and concepts, voltage, track system maintenance technology, or railway signal system technology including microprocessors preferably in an AC high voltage traction power system using Positive Train Control I-ETMS based that is FRA regulated. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in rail transit equipment maintenance activities preferably in a FRA regulated system. Proficiency in rail operations/safety practices; including vehicle/track rail system safety regulations and MOW safety practices, preferably in an FRA regulated system. Proficiency in MOW maintenance operations, policies and procedures, preferably in an FRA regulated system. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to use sound judgment. Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details. Ability to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends and special events. OR: An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.
