Position Summary:

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for efficient and effective billing of all electronic and paper claims. The Billing Specialist will review patient accounts as necessary for accuracy of registration information, pre-certification, and insurance benefits.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree in a health-related field preferred.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in physician or hospital billing setting preferred .

Prepare claims to be submitted electronically and make all necessary corrections to claims that do not pass the billing edits per payer requirements.

Review clearing house rejected claims report daily and alert Leadership to any trends in rejections by payers.
