Senior Category Manager, Corporate Procurement

Are you a purpose-driven procurement expert motivated by making business impact? Do you excel at collaborating with business and suppliers from all ends of the world? Then you might be our new Senior Category Manager for Packaging.

Your new role

In the role of Senior Category Manager, you will take global ownership of managing a mature category, critical suppliers, and contracts in our Packaging category. You will work closely with an associate category manager to partner with colleagues across our production. You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing new comprehensive category strategies that align with business goals, drive cost reductions, mitigate risks, and optimize supplier performance.

  • Act as a trusted business partner to the organization, understanding their specific needs, objectives, and challenges.

  • Lead strategic sourcing projects from need identification through contract execution.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and establish, negotiate, and manage critical, long-term contracts and contract escalations.

Your future team

Corporate Procurement (CP) is a global matrix organization consisting of 3 Procurement hubs, located in Copenhagen, Krakow and Chicago. We have global and regional Category Managers located across our 3 hubs and an efficient structure ensuring optimal procurement advisory and support to our +50 affiliates globally. Corporate Procurement is set up as a global and fully centralized organization driving category management across our full value chain, from early research through commercialization of our products.

Corporate Procurement consists of 4 category clusters (R&D, Manufacturing & Supply, Corporate Services and Commercial Services). The Manufacturing & Supply cluster currently consists of 12 dedicated individuals organized in 5 category team, including the Packaging.

The senior category manager for will report to the Director, Manufacturing & Supply and the position is located in Valby, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

Our ideal candidate have:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar

  • Extensive experience in procurement, category management, contracting and sourcing suppliers

  • Experience in pharmaceutical packaging category is preferable

  • Extensive experience with managing product critical suppliers

  • Proficiency in English both verbally and in writing
