Hilton Overnight Baker at Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, California

An Overnight Baker at Hotel Del Coronado is responsible forproducing, maintaining, setting up food and quality control of all required baked goods. Assisting in the production of bakery and pastry items including but not limited to bread, breakfast pastries, desserts, cakes and cookies for banquets, brunch and outlets.

What will I be doing?

As the Overnight Baker at Hotel Del Coronado, you are responsible for operating the baking section of the kitchen while working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Sous Chef to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and ensuring production requirements are met for all aspects of banquet, outlet desserts, breads and breakfast pastries.
  • Monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality.
  • Keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with health department regulations .
  • Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes.
  • Prepares and bakes all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls and some desserts for restaurants and banquets.
  • Ensures spoilage and waste are kept to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
  • Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings
  • Bring creativity to the pastry offerings
  • Coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
  • Plan production to facilitate daily requirements
  • County of San Diego Food Handlers Card is required
  • Position is for the overnight shift

The hourly rate is $21.04 - $24.75 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
