Racker After Hours Case Manager in Cortland, New York
Overview
Part time direct service position, 3-7 hours weekly, for innovative after-school program serving children with emotional disabilities at OCM BOCES in Cortlandville. Involves creative planning for activities to meet students’ needs and interests as well as supervising/supporting students as they participate. Outcomes include improved social skills and school attendance, as well as development of healthy skills and interests.
Past activities have included cooking, arts and crafts, Lego club, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, pottery, photography, ice skating, dog training, gardening, bowling. The sky’s the limit!
Rate of pay is $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
Facilitate scheduling, contact parents to obtain permission for involved students, provide or arrange transportation to activity sites, create and develop new opportunities based on students' interests, coordinate with Racker/BOCES counselors regarding students' needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Prior experience working with youth with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
Creativity, flexibility, positive energy
Availability during after-school hours at least twice per week
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Racker’s approved driver criteria: three years’ driving experience, at least 20 years old, and clean driving record.
