Role Summary
Here at Parker Meggitt, we’re looking for a Wheel and Brake Engineer who will hit the ground running whilst working within a team that executes the development of new Braking Systems Division (BSD) wheel and brake equipment, ensuring that the design meets the requirements defined by the customer, government agencies and BSD internal standards. This encompasses adherence to performance, cost and schedule requirements. As part of this role you’ll also support internal customers to ensure the business delivers its commitments to its contractual customers and operators.

Core Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Lead W&B Engineer supporting performance calculations and simulations to validate that the equipment will meet the required design requirements
When required, leading / responsibility for small sub-projects within the overall W&B project
Creating and reviewing of technical requirement documents under the guidance of Lead W&B Engineer in accordance with government standards, company standards and customer requirements
When required, supporting the Lead W&B Engineer and Lead W&B Designer through all phases of equipment new product development including requirements management, requirements validation, design manufacturing phase, qualification / certification testing and initial entry into service
Under the guidance of the Lead W&B Engineer helping to ensure all program targets are satisfied; includes technical performance, non-recurring costs (NRC), recurring costs (RC) and project milestones (Schedule). This includes coordination with other Engineering functions to support the equipment development
Responsible for assisting and tracking of key metrics through the development process including NRC, DTC, DMC, reliability, weight, etc. for their assigned equipment
Consulting with and seeks guidance from the Lead W&B Engineer, Product Line Expert (PLE), SME (Subject Matter Expert) and Chief Engineers as required
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in Engineering
Ability to work on problems of limited scope, follow standard practices and procedures in analysing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained, and building stable working relationships internally
Adept at using professional concepts
Experienced in applying company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
Demonstrable experience of exposure to DFM, GD&T and working knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes, as well as exposure to Project Management skills including cost / schedule tracking
Excellent communication skills; ability to present to customers and lead daily discussions with group of engineers/designers and technicians when required
Available to travel internationally as required
