Description We are seeking a Medical Collections Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry, based in Covina, California. This role involves managing medical collections, ensuring prompt billing and collection procedures for third-party patient accounts, and maintaining regular interaction with insurance providers. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage medical collections, focusing on ensuring the swift resolution of outstanding payments.

• Ensure prompt and efficient billing and collection procedures for third-party patient accounts.

• Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims.

• Work with claims 150 aged accounts, tracking and following up on delinquent claims not paid promptly as per regular cycle.

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in CMS1500 and be accustomed to multispecialty practices.

• Interact directly with insurance providers to address and resolve any inconsistencies in payment.

• Make recommendations to the Collections Supervisor regarding the possible assignment of accounts.

• Utilize MEDITECH and other relevant software for efficient and accurate data management.

• Apply knowledge and skills related to Medical Appeals, Medical Denials, CMS 1500, MEDITECH, EOB - Explanation of Benefits, and Medical Collections. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Collections

• Proficient with Medical Appeals and Medical Denials

• Familiarity and working experience with CMS 1500 and MEDITECH required

• Must be adept at understanding and interpreting EOB - Explanation of Benefits

• Prior experience in Medical Collections in the Healthcare/NHS industry is mandatory

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations required.
