Role Overview / Summary:

This position is for an experienced sales engineering professional, overseeing the compilation of customer information and the guidance of sales professional in developing and formulating sales plans for customers. Responsible for the most up to date knowledge on the most recent company Collins product/s, service/s or solution/s lines to enhance the performance of the CAS Airport Business Development team in the UK.

This role will be located with our Collins team in Crawley.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Engineering

  • Attends and presents at national/country trade shows to be able to provide technical advice to customers.

  • Engages with national customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements to understand customer needs.

  • Leads as a specialist and stays informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments to guide the team and provide technical advice to the customers.

  • Guides new sales representatives as needed and ensures that they understand the policies and procedures and the product details.

  • Leads/supports the proposal process as needed to drive the pre-sale activities of the team.

  • Conducts pre-sale and post-sale support activities (without quotas) that involves identification of customer product needs.

  • Conducts feasibility and performance studies and analyses.

  • Provides support for activities related to sales engineering and sales applications.

  • Provides technical advice regarding products to customers.

  • Conducts sales contract administration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline with at least 7 years of working experience in a customer account management role or Technical Solution Consultancy role preferably in Airports or Aviation organization or with a medium to large information communication technology system providers

  • Past work experience to include a proven track record of sales achievements

  • Possesses a working knowledge of Special Airport Systems (SAS) /Information & Communication Technology (ICT) systems

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite tools such as Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel

  • Excellent Communication (written & verbal) & presentation ability

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment locally and globally

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to source solutions to customer requirements or issues

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality

  • Ability to travel 40-50% within the UK and Europe
