Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager of Building Maintenance will assist with the administration and quality control of all preventative maintenance and new construction projects within resort facilities including leased space. This position is also assist the Building Maintenance Manager with financial accountability for the entire department, long-term planning, capital projects, and day to day operations. The Assistant Manager provides leadership and support to all employees within this department. This position delivers guidance and leadership for the team’s safety initiatives, employee engagement and daily work flow.

  • The budgeted range starts at $55,000 - $70,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management:

  • This position will have one direct report

  • Hire, train and manage the schedule for direct report

  • Responsible for regular performance reviews of direct report

  • HVAC/MEP:

  • Perform repairs on electrical and gas equipment, wiring, circuit boards, motors, kitchen equipment, ovens, fryers, steamers, etc.

  • Analyze problems with heating and cooling units from the cooling tower through the heater for the cooling tower water, keeping the temperature of the water correct. Also, taking care of heaters in the rooms, closets, common areas, etc.

  • Perform maintenance of refrigeration systems.

  • Identify various code violations and safety hazards.

  • Responsible for testing, maintenance, and operation of the CBMR on –mountain water systems. Monitoring, testing and record keeping must be done in compliance with local and state and EPA regulation. Responsible for communications with Colorado Department of Health.

  • Maintain sanitary facilities including on mountain sewer system, outhouses, pit toilets, building plumbed toilets, drains and pump stations.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested including obeying safety policies and procedures and attending and presenting safety trainings.

  • Advanced / Carpentry:

  • Ability to self direct and plan small tasks and projects such as constructing a wood framed drywall wall, including the ability to calculate material quantities.

  • This position will be required to identify tasks that require teamwork as well as to function as part of a team when necessary. Professional collaboration with other departments on the resort such as Grounds and Hospitality will sometimes be required.

  • Skill with carpentry and woodworking with the ability to safely use typical shop tools (table saw, chop saw, drill press, etc.).

  • Familiarity with and ability to comply with OSHA requirements for safety when working at height, for example on roofs and ladders, and compliance with all safety policies that affect daily work.

  • Ability to work outside and in challenging environments.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Education, Some college preferred

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to speak English

  • Ability to ski/ride to work locations preferred but not required

  • Must be able to lift 25-50lbs

  • Work both indoor and outdoor

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to work some Evenings, Weekends, and some Holidays

The expected pay range is $55,000 - $70,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
