Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Network Administrator in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This role falls within the telecom provider industry, focusing on maintaining and improving network performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Cisco routers and technologies, implementing firewall technologies, and administering Microsoft and Active Directory systems.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily operations of network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Configure, install, and support Cisco routers and technologies to facilitate communication and resource sharing among various systems.
• Implement and manage firewall technologies to protect systems from unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Utilize Microsoft systems for administrative tasks and to support the overall network operations.
• Administer Active Directory services, including user and group management, network access, and data security.
• Work with backup technologies to protect data and ensure the ability to recover information in the event of data loss.
• Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware to maintain the functionality of network devices.
• Conduct configuration management to keep track of system configurations and make necessary changes when required.
• Participate in the design and implementation of network systems, ensuring they meet organizational needs and industry standards.
• Stay current with technological trends and advancements in the field of network administration to suggest and implement improvements.
Requirements
• Applicants must possess proficiency in Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
• Familiarity with EO/IR systems is required
• Applicants should have experience in Firewall Technologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Active Directory is essential
• Knowledge of Backup Technologies is required
• Applicants should be able to work with Computer Hardware
• Experience with Configuration Management is necessary
• Applicants must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues are required
• Applicants should have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are preferred
• Prior experience in a similar role as a Network Administrator is advantageous.
