JOB SCOPE :

Essilor Instruments, part of the EssilorLuxottica group, is leader in the development, manufacturing and distribution of solutions and services for eye care professionals throughout the world. Our solutions highlight eye care professionals expertise and meet their business needs, by providing innovative solutions and technologies, ensuring patients quality care.

With constant innovation programs, Essilor Instruments has reached a leading position in major categories such as finishing equipment, eye health assessment, eye refraction and fitting measurements.

Within the Essilor Instrument division, you will join the Global Optometry Marketing team covering screening, diagnostic and imaging instruments for Optometry and Ophthalmology worldwide. Our team is in charge of the long-term product strategy plan as well as the current product portfolio management with key impacts on the success of the division.

The Marketing Product Manager may either lead one / several products, or partner with a more senior product manager to support the development of the long-term product developments.

Reporting Line: Marketing Director

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Upstream marketing:
  1. Provide market segmentation, use cases, customer needs, product requirements and market demand to support the product development and improvement process.

  2. Lead User Experience and User Interface specification.

  3. Lead usability testing.

  4. Participate in defining and specifying new products and business models through analysis of market need, discussions with KOLs and development of business plans.

  5. Represent the customer (optometrists, sales, regions and service) in project teams.

  • Downstream marketing:
  1. Support global sales team for existing or new product launch: pricing, distribution and positioning strategy, content for launch messaging, sales training materials, key international conferences and industry events, white papers, promotional campaign and point of sale collateral materials.

  2. Teamwork with Marcom team to co-develop marketing assets.

  3. Monitor performance trends. Gather market data from all sales organizations and customers worldwide to accurately estimate demand and propose sales targets and product improvement opportunities.

NETWORK OF INTERACTION:

INTERNAL : Instrument R&D, lens R&D, presales, regions, countries, RA, QA

EXTERNAL : Customers to collect market insights or support product launches

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Master Optometry and Business Administration, marketing or User Experience.

  • 5-years’ experience in marketing or product development, preferably in Optometry or Ophthalmology.

  • Experience and knowledge of the Optometry instruments market: competition, test protocols, diseases and treatments.

  • Long term strategic vision, strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills with the ability to co-author white papers on our products and animate trainings or seminars.

  • Ability to work in a work cross-functionally and in a multi-cultural business environment

  • Fluent in English. French or any other language will be a plus.

  • Available for international travel (10%).
