Aston Carter Buyer in Cullman, Alabama

Description:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for the project, including sourcing of materials and services, and supplier management.

  • Collaborate with project managers to identify project requirements and ensure that procurement plans align with project timelines and budgets.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and evaluate their products and services to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with project specifications.

  • Manage purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials and services.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts.

  • Analyze and evaluate supplier performance, and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery information.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (engineering--mechanical, industrial)

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)

  • Knowledge of manufacturing supply chain best practices and relevant laws and regulations (automotive exp preferred)

  • Job is not remote, must live in or within a commuting distance to Cullman, AL

  • Must have 2+years’ experience in sourcing (automotive manufacturing preferred)
