General Counsel opportunity in Culver City!!!
Robert Half is partnering with an established, 50+ year company that manufactures safety products in the United States. The company is looking for an experienced General Counsel to join its Executive Leadership team. The company has a huge market share and fantastic tenure, with an average of 15+ years of tenure across hundreds of employees!
This position is onsite in Culver City because the General Counsel will work closely with other members of the executive leadership.
General Counsel Responsibilities:
The General Counsel will ensure all company activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies and procedures, developing and implementing the company’s legal strategies.
The General Counsel will report directly to the CEO and make presentations to company personnel on legal issues as needed.
The General Counsel will ensure the company’s overall business objectives comply with applicable laws and regulations to avoid unacceptable risks.
Manage complex dispute resolution, such as investigations, litigation matters, legal claims, and other disputes, both internally and by managing outside counsel to protect the Company’s interests and reputation, as well as mitigate future risk.
Litigation includes product liability, trademark litigation, employment matters.
The General Counsel will draft, review, analyze, structure and negotiate commercial and transactional agreements relating to manufacture, packaging, development, purchase, supply, and licensing.
The General Counsel will analyze, refine, and implement strategies to protect current and future intellectual property assets.
Negotiate commercial leases and other real estate related matters, along with reviewing agreements for same.
Advise business unit personnel with respect to compliance policies, customer and vendor relations, and product marketing, advertising, and pricing issues.
Negotiate major insurance agreements including Property, Medical, Product and General liability, Workers Comp
The General Counsel will oversee Human Resources, working closely with executive team for issues relating to employment and benefits.
Compensation, Benefits, Other Perks:
Salary up to $250,000 but candidates seeking more are still encouraged to apply.
Medical, Dental and Vision insurance available for employee and dependents with a co-payment depending on the coverage selected.
Eligibility for medical, dental and vision occurs the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Long Term Disability insurance fully paid by the Company. Eligibility for Long Term Disability occurs the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Life insurance fully paid by the Company for you with a benefit equal to one year salary. Eligibility for Life insurance occurs the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Participation in the 401(k) Plan will be on the first day of the following quarter after you have completed 1,000 hours of uninterrupted service with the Company.
Weekly payroll, paid via direct deposit.
40 Hours of sick pay front loaded every January.
PTO –3 weeks to start for a role like this and 4 weeks after two years.
Requirements
10+ years of legal experience in top law firms and recent in-house experience.
Comfortable with commercial contracts.
Experience managing litigation, with direct handling when necessary.
Experience working with a high-level executive.
Can communicate well with non-legal employees at all levels.
