Reference #: 4536819 THE POSITION Do you have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the black bear population? If so, the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) wants you to join our team as a Wildlife Technician in our black bear program in the Northeast Region. This position will give you the opportunity provide field support to wildlife management to achieve the agency's goals and objectives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Wildlife Technician, you will be providing field support for the implementation of Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM) and Region programs. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a fully functional wildlife management team with shared BWM program support among wildlife management supervisor, wildlife biologist 1, wildlife technician, bio-aide, and intern positions to achieve the Agency's goals and objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for performing professional wildlife management duties including capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals with a focus on black bears. Work may also include wildlife population monitoring, wildlife response to habitat management, and wildlife health monitoring. You will be tasked with ensuring projects and surveys follow established guidelines and meet expected deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management; or Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.  

Special Requirements: You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, which is not under suspension.  

Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.  You must be able to perform essential job functions.
