Robert Half Assistant Manager, Revenue Accounting in Dallas, Texas

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the oil & gas industry based in Dallas, Texas. The primary function of this role is to manage revenue for properties primarily in North Dakota and Montana. The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic office setting and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including reviewing, compiling, and recording operated property revenues, adjusting revenue decks, and preparing tax returns.

Responsibilities:

• Review, compile and record operated property revenues primarily for properties in North Dakota and Montana

• Work collaboratively with the Land Administration team to adjust revenue decks and make prior period adjustments for changes in ownership

• Prepare, process, and pay state severance taxes on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Reconcile all severance taxes payable accounts for oil and gas properties in North Dakota and Montana

• Reconcile all revenue accounts receivables for oil and gas purchasers for properties in North Dakota and Montana

• Assist Revenue Accountants with system errors and issues

• Oversee Revenue Accountants’ responsibilities to ensure all tasks are handled correctly and on a timely basis

• Respond to owner inquiries and delegate tasks to Revenue Accountants as necessary

• Collaborate with other departments such as General Accounting, Land, JIB, Tax, and Treasury to resolve issues as they arise

• Approve Invoices from the Accounts Payable Department that are related to Revenue

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue management or similar role

• Proven expertise in auditing and billing functions

• Strong knowledge of compliance and revenue accounting practices

• Proficiency in managing accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience in preparing and analyzing royalty statements

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments.
