Robert Half Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description

We are inviting applications for the role of a Staff Accountant in Irving, Texas. The individual will be instrumental in maintaining and managing our general ledger accounts and business transactions, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The role will also involve frequent reconciliations and a crucial contribution to the smooth operation of our finance department.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regular account reconciliations.

• Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables, and other financial transactions.

• Oversee and process Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring bills and payroll are paid timely and accurately.

• Handle the Accounts Receivable process from billing, collections, to reporting aspects.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.

• Assist with tax preparations and audits and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

• Carry out other related duties as necessary for the smooth functioning of the finance department.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Account Reconciliation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Strong skills in performing account reconciliations and journal entries

• Excellent skills in managing and analyzing financial data to create financial reports

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Good organizational and time-management abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
