Decibel Research, Inc. DAY-2405: System Administrator in Dayton, Ohio
deciBel Research is looking for an experienced System Administrator to support operations at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson AFB (WPAB). The successful candidate will be responsible for information technology (IT) systems design, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
- Installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of commercial off the shelf (COTS) and Government off the shelf software (GOTS).
- Install and maintain organization's computer systems, including operating systems, applications, security software and other IT hardware.
- Provide installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of commercial and custom software.
- Support the development, testing, installation, integration, and sustainment of new and existing systems.
- Install and configure networking equipment.
- Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, and access rights.
- Assist users in access and use of IT systems.
- Support IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for system issues and escalated tickets.
- Contribute subject matter expertise in software development methodologies and provide technical support for projects supporting mission execution.
- Develop and execute backup and recovery plan.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university desired
Experience Requirements:
- 5-10 years' experience as a System Administrator in programs and systems of similar scope, size, and complexity.
- Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with RedHat, Linux, CentOS and/or UNIX.
- Familiarity with Docker, DC/OS, AWS and/or Kubernetes desired.
- Security+ certification is required.
Special Skills Desired:
- System administration experience with USAF or DoD systems a plus.
Experience with database administration a plus.
