Position Overview Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Modeling and Simulation Engineer to analyze expected performance of state-of-the-art systems operating under highly varied conditions and featuring advanced sensors via detailed analysis of mission effectiveness statistics generated using a diverse set of state-of-the-art modeling tools. This position is in National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Responsibilities Provide engineering support on several different projects related to multi-target tracking, data fusion, and networked air-to-air weapons Prototype digital models of air, space and missile threat observables, performance parameters, and operating envelopes Perform simulations to analyze the statistical performance limits of the models in various scenarios Support review of advanced tracking algorithms to improve modeling fidelity Verify vendor solutions meet government specifications by conducting analysis, inspection, demonstration, or tests, as appropriate Provide general feedback and improvements to the current modeling codebase, tools, and practices Provide ad-hoc support by reviewing various academic papers and intelligence reports on data fusion and target tracking topics Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Active TS/SCI security clearance Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in modeling and simulation C++, MATLAB, SIMULINK, or similar programming language Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities Experience composing documentation, reports, and briefings Ability to manage time independently without direct supervision Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in engineering or computer science Previous experience with mission level modeling and simulation Knowledge of one or more of the following modeling environments: Suppressor, AFSIM, NGTS, JSE, DIADS, IMOM or relevant tools Modeling and simulation experience related to one or more of the following: sensors, radar, electronic warfare, comm links and protocols, space, and satellite systems Familiarity with weapon systems Statistical analysis experience Global Comp $100,000 - $130,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
