Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in De Witt, New York

Description

Nick Corieri is in search of an Accounts Payable Manager to join a great company in East Syracuse, NY. The Accounts Payable (AP) Manager will manage and direct the full cycle of the AP process. Responsible for the prompt and accurate processing, payment, and accounting of all vendor invoices and association expense reports to ensure that they are consistent with association policies and procedures; and manage and provide direction and support to the AP staff.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of financial documents, reports, and budgets.

• Utilize various accounting software programs to streamline daily processes.

• Manage purchase order processes, benefits invoices, and sales taxes across all entities.

• Develop, implement, and uphold systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions, in line with company guidelines.

• Assist in the input of general ledger entries, accounts payable invoice entry, and check processing when necessary.

• Conduct detailed and accurate examination of financial records, processes, and other related data.

• Compile, analyze, and report financial information to management and government agencies as needed.

• Manage the accounts payable department, provide relevant training and ongoing support.

• Foster and maintain relationships with employees, clients, vendors, and lenders.

• Oversee routine department activities, such as disbursing checks to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Negotiate different terms of payment when applicable, and manage the Sales and Use tax process.

• Exhibit integrity, excellence, and humility, promoting teamwork with all colleagues.

• Demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.

• Attend and actively participate in required meetings and training sessions.

• Comply with established policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.

• Practice and teach safety awareness, and identify and report or correct any possible safety or environmental issues.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related work experience - preferably in a company with many entities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• MS Excel formulas and strong technical skills

• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles

• Proven experience in Team Management

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
