24HR Safety, LLC. HSEQ Specialist in Deer Park, Texas

Position Summary

Reporting to the District Manager with a dotted line to the HSE Director, the HSEQ Specialist is responsible for quality control within daily operations and ensures compliance with Company SOPs and regulatory bodies to support a healthy, productive and environmentally safe operation.  This professional holds responsibility for facility safety and ensures safety is embodied in the process as well as in the final product.   

Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to

  • Learn and reinforce Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within accordance to local, state and federal regulatory compliance.

  • Review current processes and share ideas to ensure safety best practices remain included and implemented. 

  • Minimize contaminants and clear trailers and additional equipment for operational use.

  • Perform Daily Quality Control Audits of Breathing Air Compressor Area.    

  • Perform daily quality control audits on all Compressed Air cylinders and Racks before shipment.

  • Assist operations with spot checking customer orders for quality and accuracy.

  • Daily inspection of Delivery Vehicles to confirm drivers have performed pre and post trip inspections and that vehicles meet all local, State and Federal DOT regulatory requirements.

  • Participate and when necessary, conduct daily Drivers Meeting.

  • Daily Audit of Compressor Area.

  • Verify all personnel are wearing correct personal protective equipment (*safety glasses w/ side shields, ear plugs (double for compressor operator), steel toe shoes and leather gloves as necessary

  • Verify all cylinders are stored, maintained and operating safely.

  • Act as Safety Warden for assigned facility, ensuring to communicate safety best practices for all departments and levels of employee staff. 

  • In partnership with the management team, support training efforts to ensure safe operations. 

  • Actively involved in waste recovery and disposal to support environmental efforts.

  • Lead facility-wide hearing conservation efforts.

  • As needed, audit employee performance at client sites. 

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D

  • 5 plus years supporting safety conditions within Petrochemical and/or Oil and Gas plant environments.

  • Minimum 23 years or older 

  • No plant restrictions

  • NCCER CSST Certification required 

  • OSHA 501 or equivalent required. 

  • Fit-testing, H2S, and confined space training experience a plus. 

  • Must have verifiable work experience related to compliance with DOT FMCSA regulations

  • Must have verifiable work experience related to compliance with OSHA 1910 & 1926 regulations.

  • Ability to read and properly interpret published standards.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to assist Corporate HSE in the development or update of established procedures.

  • Must complete breathing air equipment manufacturers certification training within 12 months.

  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record

  • Ability to submit to and pass drug and background screening.

  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal skills a must in the English language.

  • Strong attention to detail required.  

  • Ability to work with all levels of management and employee population in a professional manner.

  • Willingness to travel a must. 

  • Must be flexible to work long hours including on-call, weekends and holiday schedule.

  • Solid judgment along with good decision-making skills

  • Strong leadership capabilities

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time - direct hire employment opportunity.  The employee must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. Overnight travel likely. Additional hours may be needed. On-call availability required.
