Caroline County Commissioners Paramedic in Denton, Maryland

Paramedic (Full Time): Caroline County Department of Emergency Services About the Department: The Department of Emergency Services is responsible for providing high quality Emergency Communications, Hazard Planning, Risk Management and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the residents, governmental departments, agencies, and visitors of Caroline County. Including Emergency Communications, 911, Police and Sheriffs Office Communications, and Fire and rescue communications for nine volunteer Fire and EMS Departments. About the Job: Full-Time Paramedic. This is skilled specialized work as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Performs necessary emergency medical care on sick, injured, or convalescent persons at the site of an incident or in route to the hospital or other destination as prescribed by MIEMSS. Required Knowledge and Skills: Considerable knowledge of EMS principles, practices, methods, techniques, and equipment. Thorough knowledge of Maryland Medical Protocols and how they relate to the required skills. Skill in the use of medical instruments and equipment and in the operation of emergency vehicles. Ability to decide what to do in stressful situations; to quickly analyze facts, evaluate situations, draw conclusions, plan work, and act. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, peers, the public, fire departments, MIEMSS, and hospitals in the surrounding area. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Must be able to operate emergency vehicles in accordance with Maryland State Laws and Caroline County driving procedures. Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. Paramedic I License/Training Requirements: NOTE: All required licenses and certificates must be acquired and maintained at the applicants or employees expense. Valid Drivers License Maryland Licensed Paramedic National Certified Paramedic EVOC or acceptable equivalent course within six months after employment Salary Starting At: $55,720 This includes scheduled overtime when the assigned schedule is worked. Paramedic II License/Training Requirements: NOTE: All required licenses and certificates must be acquired and maintained at the applicants or employees expense. 2 - 5 years experience as full time Paramedic with Caroline County. OR 5 - 10 years experience as a Paramedic with another agency.

AND

Valid Drivers License Maryland Licensed Paramedic National Certified Paramedic FEMA ICS 100 and 700 ACLS PALS FEMA IS-5 An Introduction to Hazardous Materials. EVOC or acceptable equivalent course within six months after employment. Salary Starting At: $58,338 This includes scheduled overtime when the assigned schedule is worked. Paramedic III License/Training Requirements: NOTE: All required licenses and certificates must be acquired and maintained at the applicants or employees expense.

5 - 10 years experience as full time Paramedic with Caroline County.

OR

10 - 20 years experience as a Paramedic with another agency.

AND

Valid Drivers License Maryland Licensed Paramedic National Certified Paramedic FEMA ICS 100, 200, 300, 700 and 800 ACLS PALS FEMA IS-5 An Introduction to Hazardous Materials. EVOC or acceptable equivalent course within six months after employment. Salary Starting At: $60,852 This includes scheduled overtime when the assigned schedule is worked.
