Located remotely, Gates is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive new business growth in our Power Transmission and Fluid Power Product lines. You will report to the Sales Director, Strategic Accounts and collaborate with both internal departments and external contacts at end customers, OEM's, and distribution. This position will be responsible for business growth in the Western half of the US through a top strategic distribution partner. The main focus of the role will be on the development, penetration, and conversion of targeted major industrial consumers and OEM's. You will be responsible for establishing a sales pipeline of major incremental business opportunities, both near and medium term, that result in significant sales and profit growth. Key Skills and Responsibilities: Work closely with the Sales Director to align strategies, goals, and objectives with overall distribution and company strategy. Understand the competitive landscape/players/products and effectively communicate Gates' unique value proposition. Develop a sales pipeline of MRO and OEM targets that helps the company meet its overall opportunity targets. Manage pipeline through internal CRM systems. Develop strategies and tactics to target, penetrate and close competitive opportunities. Build and communicate business case for highly competitive opportunities. Maintain close collaboration and coordination with Gates local sales management and foster support of regional alignment to national account activities. Travel extensively throughout region (70%). Work with internal departments to gather data and enlist support for key initiatives.

ABOUT YOU Bachelor's Degree required. 8+ years of related experience. Strong knowledge of PT and FP products and related applications. Proven sales and managerial skills to grow Gates' exposure at national accounts and OEMs. Experience working with industrial distribution and end-market customers. Highly organized and disciplined; self-starter. Possess superb presentation and communication skills. Experienced negotiator with strong business acumen. Strong strategic planning skills with proven ability to execute and close business opportunities. Ability to work with internal sales and marketing groups to lead and coordinate capabilities with customer needs. Experience in finding and implementing cost savings opportunities outside of price. Project management skills to follow up on work at specific plants or test sites. Analytical skills to analyze customer data and organize outputs into actionable business plan objectives Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS Full-Time Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 Eligible for our Sales Incentive Program Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of Eligible 3 weeks of vacation 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match Tuition Reimbursement
